Job Description |
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
Ensure that productivity is maximized across the entire supply chain for decoration and embellishment. Drive planning and forecasting facility capacity so its optimized, and cost is minimized through effective forecasting, strategic planning. Inside execution through Domestic contractor, owned facilities and vendors with Demand Planning and Buying for factory embellishments. Collaborates with warehouse senior management, 3PL management and supervision, Customer Service, Purchasing and Logistics, Sales,and Team personnel to meet delivery targets and ensure the highest level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the development of long range capacity planning to effectively and efficiently manage manufacturing capacity across the entire supply chain
Develop a plan and resource requirements to properly implement capacity planning across the supply chain
Communicate capacity planning results to all business stakeholders. Identify capacity constraints and make recommendations on options to address
Document our decoration capacity strategy across each segment of business including vendors, contractors and owned facilities
Maintain and create current documented procedures for each step of the manufacturing planning functions to include types of reports, resources, and skills required to execute the process.
Maintain daily communication with the business via all of the departments listed in the overall purpose section above delivering accurate and timely information.
Communicate capacity planning strategy and execution plan to all interested parties.
Develop short and long range forecasts, department budgets, and labor requirements.
Create management tools to analyze and report on performance and provide critical alerts to the business community. Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and perform periodic review of system configuration and operational processes; develop and implement action plans to improve facility throughput and efficiencies.
Interpret and improve forecasting models using data collection, data analysis and statistical tools.
Participate and assist in internal hot market planning and execution at local area printers.
Work to effectively integrate SAP ERP/MRP Systems into the planning process. Utilize Advanced Planning Optimizer functionality to create long term capacity plan.
Provide on-going leadership and training to DC management on proper work processes and functionality
Key Relationships:
Maintain relationships with Distribution Directors, IT group, Department line staff, Customer Service, Sourcing, Demand Planning and Buying, Purchasing and Logistics, Sales Team and Brand management and Team Properties.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrates advanced functional, technical, and process management skills with expert knowledge of the cross-departmental inter-dependencies within the environment. Proven analytical and problem solving skills.
Strategic forward thinker who can provide innovative solutions to align with business requirements
Comprehensive understanding of Supply Chain Operations, Capacity Planning and Database systems
Ability to recruit, motivate, train, and develop a team of professionals to achieve desired results
Excellent Interpersonal and Communications skills to interface with both technical and business teams at all levels of management
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain or Manufacturing related field required.
Five to ten years of Supply Chain (Master Scheduling or Production Planning) working experience in a multi-factory setting required.
APICS certification preferred.
SAP or other ERP System experience a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Access and Excel.
