| Job Description |
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Director of Textile Operations in the NY area.
The Director of Textile Operations is an executive who develops and executes the strategic plan for the fashion and home production team.
This position ensures that customer needs are met and that goods are produced in an efficient and timely manner.
This position oversees purchasing, laboratory and production dyeing, color standards, product conversion, quality and realization.
This position is also responsible for department budgeting and maintaining gross margin.
This person will meet with key suppliers to communicate the needs of the company and to develop a relationship that is mutually beneficial to the supplier and company.
This person will also be responsible for developing new suppliers as needed for additional capacity and product development.
Skill Requirement
• 7 – 10 years of demonstrated success in leading & managing others
• Detailed knowledge of Textile dyeing and experience managing lab or production departments
• Experience and ability to work within and understand budgets and P & L
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, through a variety of media
• Ability to implement and drive continual improvement
• Experience creating processes and best practices
• Ability to take a strategic view of their department
• Applicants for this position must be able to immediately gain credibility with others to negotiate with and influence them. Additionally, a strong attention to detail is imperative
• Strong computer skills and a background working with ERP/MRP software
• Working knowledge of operational excellence tools & applications
• Proven leadership ability that builds and matures the next level of management for future roles within the company
Education Requirement
• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Textile Science, Textile Manufacturing, or Operations Management is required.
A Masters or MBA is preferred.
